Surrealism appeals to me because it is somewhat disturbing.
 I love pieces that send a little shiver up my spine

    Hi Marilyn, what a terrific surreal piece. You have to look closely to see the face inside the bird. Behead for sure!

    Yes, it did send a shiver up my spine! A great piece of surreal which is scary, a little bit weird but full of imagination.

    Well, I have the shiver up my spine for sure. Funny thing, tho, I think of surreal as whimsical and out of the norm, not necessarily giving shivers. That's what makes these challenges fun -- every artist brings his own ideas to life. Beautifully crafted work!

      Hi Bev, thanks for your great comments. I've always gravitated towards the darker side of surrealist artwork. You are right that there is a whimsical side as well which is a treat for the eyes!
